calendar ticked over, nothing would happen. Knew a lot of programmers
back then, they made a killing getting systems ready for Y2K. One snag

Highly unlikely that Reynolds & Reynolds system was written in COBOL,
they ran UNIX on their own VIM minicomputers. So, unless they had gone
to the trouble to port a COBOL compiler to their own machines, it was
written in something else. That doesn't mean that there weren't Y2K
problem though.
