I'm disappointed to be right. This team could very easily be 0-4 heading into the bye week. Minnesota will be desperate at home next Sunday, and while one would think that the Chargers should beat the Raiders at home, if they are 0-3 going in the team might be mentally checked out.

They have spent a lot on the roster so why not spend on the coach? It's the one place they can splurge and not count against the cap. This team is desirable to coach with all the player talent, so it shouldn't be like past years where top tier coaches didn't want to coach the Chargers.

Offense was not terrible considering they were missing a key piece or two.
24 points is not a poor performance. Defense needs a kick in the pants.
Not sold on Bosa. IMO the Chargers need to move on from him.

The Vikings will kick their ass right into 0-3.

Gruden - should never have gotten another job and will never get another one
Del Rio - failed retread
Campbell - just lost to Ohio (not State)

Most important thing is to boot Telesco and hire a good GM first. Telesco's the one making these failed hires.

Well, that would rule out a mid-season change, since the Chargers will
not fire a GM in the middle of a season.

Money spent on the roster is fixed, if you take a 5 year time horizon.
Every dollar spent is accounted by the cap at some point in 5 years.
The only cost to the owner of paying early is the opportunity cost of
for example keeping the money in municipal bonds.

Every additional penny paid to a coach is an additional real cost to the
owner.

In other words, a cheap owner can be happy to play cap games and still
be unwilling to pay significantly to coaches.

Sounds like an owner who's top priority isn't winning games.
