1) You ought to speak to someone who's dating anyone, and they'll tell
you I am right.

2) You ought to speak to someone who dates anyone, and they'll tell you
I am right.

Is there a difference in the meanings?

I think '1' means that you ought to talk to someone who is dating someone
(no matter who) and '2' means you ought to talk to someone who would
date anyone.

Is that correct?

Incomprehensible without the context. Are you still learning generations-
old California slang from Buffy?

I suspect you might ask an intelligible question if it started "You ought
to ask anyone who's ...."
