understand way? I have no excuses and wouldn't use them if

I have had an inordinate number of jewish friends in my time.
At the same time I don't care for people's preoccupation with

to have a sense of humor, but it ends when it comes to jokes

joke, then it's ok). Truth is, no matter what I have to say about

It is not hateful in the least when I tell Jews I've known that they
are one hell of a bigoted group of people. Of course they deny it

I'm not into history. Not much anyway. Depends on what it is.
I don't go for history that can be and often is debated. Who needs
it? I can look in the mirror and see history. I'm just not into it. But
I do agree with your comment about the wounds of Jews, that many
are self inflicted.

I am an intuitive historian

Not only do we not need to know everything, I sometimes think
we know as much as we possibly can but the knowledge is hard
to take - too ugly, too raw, too real. So people pretend to not know
things to make themselves feel more innocent. Like when there's
a big mass killing and everyone is going around in a blank daze
with comments like, "What makes them do it?", when clearly they
know deep inside why lots of things happen - they just want to pretend
they don't. They are not born stupid. They are born knowing everything
with a big enough future in front of them to learn how to pretend they
don't. I just said all that because I thought it sounded cool and profound
even if it's not. Truth is, once again, yes you are right - I could be an
intermediary between two clans - one of the greatest and most honest
judges who ever lived - but I must decline the nomination because I am
not interested enough in the topics at hand to referee them. Sure, I like
history. But only the history I want to know. Or feel I need to know.
Other than that, all the world-stage stuff - like when this or that famous
person was born or died - that kind of history is something I don't care
for and never have.

I have never been into myth and legend, but then I've never been into
much of anything in a serious way. But now thinking about it, it is not
so odd to see myth and legend as a form of history, because the myths
and legends were written by humans. But still I don't care about history
or the need to replace it with anything else. At the same time, nice guy
that I am, I am not opposed to those who see it the other way. That's one
of the most incredible things about me - I'm a really opened guy, capable
of seeing things from a variety of perspectives. I have my flaws. I have
my talents. Probably my greatest talent is my modesty. I am the most
modest man I have ever met.

Funny the way you said, "Works for me", when talking about discarding
or re-emphasizing history. It's like a religion almost. The kind people
don't totally believe in but choose to do so, "Just in case", or, "Because
it works for me." Thanks for giving me a chance to babble.
