I use Duilingo on Windows 10, with "US international" keyboard. I guess
I'll have to try it again.

Should be fine. The specific browser may come into it too, I use Chromium and
equivalently Microsoft Edge.

I did some checking today. It turned out that I had forgotten that you
have to use the left Alt key for things like accents in Windows. In OS/2
it's the right Alt key.
