....a few months ago with Firefox 82/linux. Tonight it stopped working
with Firefox Nightly/linux. Works fine with Chrome. It insists I need
to install the app or subscribe to Workspace. No.

Just me or everybody else?

It is working for me with firefox 115.9.1esr (64-bit).
