I recently updated from 102.15.1 esr to 115.6.0 esr, and I find that some links now open to a
minimized webpage. I can't figure out how to change this behavior. I've tried maximizing the newly
opened page and then exiting Firefox, but that doesn't work. I'd be grateful for help.

Aha, that accounts for it. Yes, I've tried to get in the habit of
ctrl-shift-q but I never think of it. But I think it had another
key-combination a few years ago.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut F11 to switch between Full
Screen and normal mode. On computers with a compact keyboard (such as

If you don't have the menu bar showing, hit the alt key, it will pop up. Then hit file-quit.

How do you not recall when Firefox displayed the menu bar by default?

Right click on the + sign to the right of the open tabs on the tab bar.
Then click Menu bar to display. Then you'll see drop-down options on the
menu bar.

You can also quit the application with Shift-Ctrl-Q in Windows or Ctrl-Q
in linux.

Doing either of these is superior to simply closing the last open tab or
window because it does a better job of terminating all Firefox
processes.

I haven't used Windows for some time, so don't know if this will help.
Right-click on the FF taskbar tab. Do you have something like
"Unmaximise" as an option? If so click on that and the FF window should
reduce in size. Right click on the taskbar tab again and now try
"Maximise". The window should now be full size. Now do Shift-Ctrl-Q and
try reopening FF. Does the full-size window stick?

If it doesn't, it might be worth trying a reboot directly after quitting FF.
