After doing some further testing I have determined that the problem is
definitely with FF. I watched the memory usage as I read several
articles from my "My Yahoo" page. The longer I was reading the higher
the memory usage climbed until it hit almost 9GB, at which point FF
became almost totally unresponsive. I shut done the "My Yahoo" page
and memory usage slowly dropped back to 4-5 GB.

To confirm that it was FF and not "My Yahoo", I repeated the trial
with Chrome and memory usage never climbed above 5GB

Since I detest Chrome, do you have any suggestions to stop FF from
hogging the memory? Would NoScript work for this problem? If so, what
should I disable/enable to allow me to still read stories and view
video clips in the stories (only when desired)?
