I think the Wayland dialogue exhausted itself.

But I'll shoot in a new question!

I use a raspberry 3a+ for my tv, and it is great although a bit
underpowered for kodi. The reason I choose that model is that it fits.
Due to the big port module on a 3b those bigger boards don't fit.

Does anyone know of something similar to the 3a+ but in modern form with a
bit more power and cpu?

Sadly the raspberry 4 and 5 seem to double down on the big form factor and
it is too big to fit behind my tv. =(

Best regards,
Daniel

Google Groups previously announced that effective February 22, 2024 they
are discontinuing Usenet support. Google Groups users won't be able to
post to newsgroups and they won't see any new content from Usenet.

So, yes, the Google Groups posters are disappearing.

I suspect that without the incessant spam originating from Google
Groups, activity might actually pick up in newsgroups again.

Dunno about the space, must be pretty tight behind your TV if a couple
of usb/eth ports stop it fitting?

Actually the Pi4 and 5 are exactly the same size as the 3, so what is
the actual problem here? I have a 4 running LibreElec and I think it is
very fast and it plays 4k HDR videos without the slightest hitch.

Not powerful enough I'm afraid, but thank you for the tip.

Why isn't it working? On my side generation 3 is not strong enough, and
all B models are too big for my use case, sadly. Otherwise I really like
the platform.

Correct. I have a very flat Oled tv and power sockets in the middle of the
wall, so I have about 1 cm or so between the tv and the wall. Just enough
for an 3a+.

The problem is that due to the portmodule, the 4 and 5 are too high so
they won't fit in the 1 cm space I have. If I could somehow easily remove
the ports, I think it would fit, but based on what I've seen it is very
difficult and requires special tools. So I'd rather by a raspberry pi 4a+
or something similar to avoid the trouble.

Suppose the Kodi GUI is a little obese? Then try a different
player. Install mpv for example. It doesn't even has a GUI. But front
ends exists if it does the job.

Would had been nice if Google would still synchronize with new postings
after February 22, even if not allowing to post new articles.

Did you hear there was drama about window icons?

A GNOME developer wants applications to register their icon in their
..desktop file. An application which uses several different window icons
must register several different .desktop files in the system
applications list.

Everyone else says: no, that's a really stupid idea.

And ALL FOR THE BETTER !!! :-)

Though we still have our share of trolls/idiots.

Ah, cleaning out my office, found a Kodak #2a Autographic Junior
(130 film) a #1 Junior (120 film) and a couple of other folders.
Bellows look OK, but could spray black plastic 'rubber' inside
if there are any pinholes. Also a Kodak brown bakelite box
Brownie (620).

Found a vid on YT ... some guy took a #2a and made trick spools
and a mask augment so it'd work with 120 as a panoramic cam.
The 130 was a bit wider, ergo the need. He even took some pix
with it, not TOO bad considering the crude lens/shutter. 130
was "postcard size" around WW-1. Can't find the ISO ... maybe
100 ? Shutter speeds are 1/25 and 1/50

The Autographic is interesting - a small long hatch in the back
JUST big enough for a writ one-line note/date - which would get
burned into the edge of the neg.

Oh, one cam says "N.C. Cartridge 120" ... but extensive searching
does not explain what that IS. The "Cartridge" might just mean "roll",
not the pre-formed plastic cartridges more popular in the 60s/70s
InstaMatics).

All the folder cams were kinda 1915-1925 vintage plus or minus.
Must have found them in junk shops and then forgotten.
