Bit late really isn’t it.
If the Southern had not been nationalised would there have been another
batch of light Pacifics to hang some names on , or would Bulleid have
continued trying to make Leader work and if it didn’t expand his Diesel
design beyond the 3 that were built. Though the class 40 though looking
different was heavily influenced by them and the bogie design also used on
class 44/5.

Bulleid moved to Ireland and worked on diesels and a turf (peat) burner
which was very much in the style of the Leader.

He converted an older traditional loco first, had the legend Experimental
Turf Burning Locomotive on the tender.
Apparently some wag obscured the letters Experi with dirt.
Must read up a bit more on CC1 , ISTR that at least one of Bulleids
colleagues from the Leader project and still working for BR was allowed to
go to Ireland and assist. One took lots of photos recording its
construction that he brought back and hence they now reside at the NRM
rather than in an Irish Archive.
