Time Magazine name Taylor Swift as person of the year.

I suppose that they have done worse though, they once named Hitler in
the same manner.

Yeah but look at the choices this year... what a bunch of bullshit.

Hollywood Strikers.
Xi Jinping.
Taylor Swift – *WINNER*
Sam Altman.
Trump Prosecutors.
Barbie.
Vladimir Putin.
King Charles III.

**Why not. Person of the year does not necessarily have to be smart,
good, or a decent person.

George W Bush, Putin and Trump have all received that 'honour', despite
being complete fuckwits.

That said, Tay Tay is a decent person, who looks after her employees far
better than most:

Given some of their previous "winners", I don't think there is too much
that is "un-bloody-believable" about it. A more un-bloody-believable
fact would be that she's as popular as she is, which is a sad indictment
on the state of music as a whole these days.

Criticism from a total *non-achiever* and purveyor of fake claims!

Taylor Swift's talents and abilities are *real*, not fake. She doesn't
*claim* to be a talented singer/songwriter, she actually *is*! What's
more, she is recognised as talented by others, lots of others.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Swift

Lots and lots of achievements in that link.

12 Grammy Awards,
1 Emmy Award,
40 American Music Awards (the most won by an artist),
39 Billboard Music Awards (the most won by an artist—tying with Drake),
111 Guinness World Records,
23 MTV Video Music Awards (including four Video of the Year wins),
12 Country Music Association Awards (including the Pinnacle Award),
8 Academy of Country Music Awards,
2 Brit Awards.
As a songwriter, she has been honoured by the Nashville Songwriters
Association, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the National Music
Publishers' Association and was the youngest person on Rolling Stone's
list of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time in 2015. At the 64th
BMI Awards in 2016, Swift was the first woman to be honoured with an
award named after its recipient.

No qualifications *claimed* nor needed, just raw talent. ;-)

You seem to have difficulty comprehending what a trade is. That's seems
strange since you also claim to have completed an apprenticeship.
Firstly, what a trade is not - a trade is not a licence. Instead, a
trade is the culmination of many years serving an apprenticeship,
learning the craft, becoming proficient, and being granted entry into
the trade.

What is a licence then? Nothing more than the government's guarantee
that the tradesman holding the licence has qualified for and completed
an apprenticeship. Sadly, not all trades have any form of licencing
arrangement. That is changing, and not before time. The public has the
*right to know* that the person they are contracting to do work for them
has completed an apprenticeship and is *proficient*. Sadly, for
Victorians, there is no such licencing in automotive, any old shonk can
set up and run a motor repair business. When it all tuns to shit, hey,
there's no insurance, the shonk makes up all sorts of excuses, and backs
away from responsibility - like the saga of Les' engine and the (ahem)
faulty valve.
