The "restore" looks more like it's limited to a paint job than a full

That was designed for an era where you were wealthy enough to have a
driver/mechanic on a full time basis. Not the sort of thing you can just
jump in, start up and drive off. Those things are extremely high
maintenance. I mean, just look at that final drive - exposed chains. And
those brake bands - oil soaked. It'd be interesting to see the
differential dismantled. And that generator doesn't look original. You
can tell, from the generator fitup, that the engine is a low revving
beast just from the pulley ratios. Given that it has a generator and a
battery, I wonder if it has been retrofitted with a starter. Probably
not since I see a well used crank handle in one of the photos. The
generator is probably just for lighting in the land of the midnight sun.

Well, they certainly did more work than the people who "restored" the
Cadillac that Felix linked to, but I don't know how well Edd & Mike's
resto would do at the Concourse d'Elegance held at Pebble Beach :)
