Various newsgroups have been getting flooded with thousands of spam
messages posted with Google Groups, which is what Jonz uses.
Eternal September, among others, are running spam filters that
are likely to be extra suspicious of any GG posts. Individual.net
is likely also doing that and hence some posts from Jonz are
probably being deleted as spam by mistake.

Ausics is now just blocking all Google Groups posts, hence the
note in my sig.

hosting newsgroups, never had a problem with it and its very reasonably
priced.

Been using Paypal for many years with zero problems as a buyer or
seller, and have always got my money back promptly when things have
turned to shit.

It's unfortunate that you've had a nasty experience, but from what I can
gather most people don't and I certainly never have. On the contrary, in
times of trouble Paypal has returned my money in situations that would
be difficult to achieve using any other payment method.

Sure seems that way, they are complaining about something that is very
clear in the terms and conditions, maybe they should be complaining
about their school and teachers for failing to teach them to read.
If there is an issue with a vendor and you paid by PayPal you will get
your money back, it may take a while but that is be expected because it
takes time to resolve issues, the fact that you do get the money back is
the main reason I use PayPal.

Same. I've never had a bad experience with it, and I struggle to see how
anyone could. I imagine most of the people who do make assumptions based
on how *they* expect things should work rather than making themselves
aware of how they *actually* do.

no you don't on many occasions as testified to on those many reviews,
and as I didn't even tho I proved the merchant was a scammer!
fortunately Amex my default paypal source made an ex-gratia payment,
even tho they were under no obligation to do so.

AFAIK the delay in payments is an eBay thing, unless you are a regular
seller with a good reputation, they hold on to the payment for some time
in case there is a claim from the buyer.

The thing that I like about PP is that you can buy stuff without your
details going all over the internet. Also, if a transaction turns out to
be a ripoff, you can open a dispute and get a refund. I've done that a
couple of times without problem.

I've had a few weird problems with individual.net recently, but it may
be because I've been on a satellite connection which gets routed through
different places, I've had ads coming up in German and Japanese although
being in neither of those places.
