I don't know why anyone would be bothered by this. It's not like your
information isn't already out there :)

Could be worse.
Panel beater who just fixed my wife's car has a neighbor who owns a
Tesla Model 3, he had the car to fix a scratch on the bumper, it was
parked out the back of his workshop waiting to be fixed when he decided
to duck out the back to take a quick leak, shortly after the neighbor
rang him and told him that she had watched what he was doing via the
cars cameras that are always active:-)

Privacy is *always* an issue that everyone should worry about. Ask the
Chinese, ask the Russians, their privacy has long been *revoked* and
their personal information used against them. I've said it before and
I'll say it again, you are incredibly naive!

If you're happy having your personal detail flogged to the highest
bidder, that's fine. Personally, I try to be a bit more choosey who gets
mine, and, if they do get sold, I want something in return.

It's not about being happy. It's about being deluded enough to think
that it's not happening already. If you have a smart phone everyone
already knows everything about you whether you like it or not, and even
if you take all the precautions in the world you're still at the mercy
of large companies who leave their back doors open.

Hello Optus....

Personally, I try to be a bit more choosey who gets

Good luck with that, but I'm *still* not convinced that this is anything
worth the news story. What's your car going to tell anyone about you?
Where you stop to buy your fuel or what supermarket you go to?

Just add that to the enormous list of things that you "don't know why".

Think about it Fraudster... If anyone had your vehicles' relevant geodata
it'd be a few minutes work to prove that;

1. You never owned a business in the SIA.
2. Where you *did* push a broom.
3. You have no friends.
4. The only time you've left the country was the odd trip to UnZed.

That pig ignorant idiot can't see past his nose.

No wonder then that in his narrow tunnel visioned world he doesn't even
know about mechanics using scan tools to access fuel trim data to aid in
diagnosing issue in cars made in the last 20+ years.

- and because he doesn't know or understand it he thinks it can't be
happening.

He has the cognitive ability of a young child.
