All: a bit of a story to tell. We have 2 separate 12v solar systems up
the block (redundancy).. both 12v, one with 2 x 170 ah LiFePo4
batteries, and the other, 2 x 200 ah LiFePo4 batteries. All is good,
except the 2 x 200ah setup has a problem with authority. Each battery
has a BMS (Battery Management System) built in, and it seems one can't
take charge over the other. So the result is we have one battery
discharging, whilst the other one sits there doing nothing. Been
struggling with this for months. then my mate took over. Got a result,
Renogy replaced one battery. Working much better, but still not 100%
correct.. Then I saw an ad on ebay from Renogy: buy 1 x 400ah battery
for $3600, and get one free.

some pics... https://imgur.com/a/hAevKes

Works out to $1800 each!!! I figure I'll replace the 2x 200ah with one
400ah, and sell the 200's and the remaining 400ah. Or maybe keep both
the 400's, and sell the 4 smaller batteries. Anyway, paid for them;
Renogy sends a order confirmation, and all's good.

Until 2 hours later: To quote Morgan Freeman: "It was at this moment
they realised they'd fucked up" :-D

"Dear valued customer,
Thanks for your support, we are very sorry to inform you that, the
battery you purchased has some issues with shipping, we need to cancel
it, and we will refund you immediately. Please let me know if you have
any questions
Best regards
*****"

My reply:
"DO NOT CANCEL THE ORDER. PLEASE SHIP THE WHOLE ORDER (2 x 400ah
BATTERIES: WHAT I HAVE PAID FOR) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It seems you have
no issues selling the batteries from your own website. It appears you
have made a mistake with your pricing on ebay, and are now not willing
to sell what you advertised, and what I've paid for, which is against
Australian Consumer Law(1). I have spent many Thousands of dollars with
Renogy au (2 x 200ah batteries, 3 x 170 ah batteries, 7 x 200 watt solar
panels, and assorted pieces like inverters, and dont think I should be
treated like a fool. I notice the add I bought the batteries from is now
marked as out of stock. Funny how you had "more than 10 available" when
I placed my order only 2 hours earlier...."

What they changed the add to... https://tinyurl.com/mpn9vyyb
and on their own website:
https://au.renogy.com/renogy-12v-400ah-rego-lithium-iron-phosphate-battery/
But I digress...

***** replies:
"Thanks for your quick response, yes we noticed that you have many of
our renogy products, and we will ask our warehouse to ship your 2
batteries ASAP.
Could you please recommend renogy to your friends or families? we will
offer you an extra discount."

Certainly wasnt expecting them to roll over so easy! :-)

Yeah, nah. :-) Anyway the batteries have been shipped as of today. As
the wife pointed out, the batteries that were out of stock, and unable
to be shipped.

Flogs.

Arrived this morning, fucking heavy @ 51kg each. Currently (Boom Tish!)
charging one at 15 amps, and will take a further 16 hours at that rate.
I do have a 30 ah charger, but it's up the block.

So a nice win for a change!!

(1) I dont know wether this is true or not, but it seemed to work :-D

Yep. Fuck 'em. If you're stupid enough to make mistakes like this then
you should pay for it.

Is he the same one who thinks his trade qualifications actually exist?
The same one who thinks he could get an AME apprenticeship even though
he ran away from the year 9 exam. Hint, the year 9 exam wouldn't have
been good enough anyway but, since he never applied for any AME
apprenticeship, he didn't know that minor detail.

Nothing astonishes Noddy so much as common sense and plain dealing.
